Inside each duvet, at its seams and between the two fabrics, a cotton tape is placed as it seals and reinforces the seam, thus enhancing the duvet’s durability. The tape also prevents down from coming out through the sewn area. At the edges, the duvet is sewn with a double stitch and finished with a 12 mm wide decorative tape – called ‘biza’ – which seals the product even further.

Packaging: The duvet is delivered in a reusable, suitcase-like cotton case that ensures your duvets and pillows are stored in perfect conditions. And it’s going to prove a handy gift-wrap, too! We designed the cases so that the duvets and pillows can breathe and take up as little space as possible when stored in your wardrobe. Please bear in mind that our products and the packaging are entirely plastic-free.

collection

The Maria collection is a tribute to Alfons, the company founder, and his wife Maria – our grandparents, great-grandparents, and our children’s great-great-grandparents. Alfons Mielcarek named his first company in Maria’s honour. "Emkap M. Mielcarek" read the inscription engraved onto the shop sign, which invited passers-by to pay a visit to the newly established bedding and duvet workshop located 36 Wrocławska Street in downtown Poznań.

Great-grandmother Maria was Alfons’ great love and wife, and at the same time his trusted business advisor. She collected bedding fabrics passionately and kept their pieces in a small, cosy room behind the master bedroom.

In sewing our duvets we make use of certain pre-war techniques, currently employed by only a handful of manufacturers. The laborious manual techniques increase the products’ quality and provide our customers with unique, durable, and beautiful itemsdesigned and made to ensure they enjoy deep and reinvigorating relaxation. Our duvets are defined by the softness of their outer material and the fluffiness of their filling, tempting you to wrap yourself in them round the clock, all year round.

This collection is the right choice for you, if:

- you want to drape yourself in something ultra-light and extremely comfortable. The all-season duvet in the most frequently ordered size (155 cm x 200 cm) weighs only 1.5 kg
